What Is Remote Facility Operations?

Remote facility operations means an operating team manages follow-up, coordination, and visibility without having to sit physically at every site.

What the remote team usually does

Remote operations typically receives requests, prioritizes incidents, follows vendors, coordinates quotations and approvals, monitors execution status, and prepares management visibility through the same operating record.

What it does not automatically mean

Remote operations does not automatically mean field labor, spare parts, 24/7 coverage, or every supplier cost is included. Those elements still depend on the commercial scope and service boundaries agreed for the facility.

How it differs from the other SHIFTFM routes

The platform route keeps execution with the customer’s own team. Remote Operations adds SHIFTFM-led follow-up and coordination. Managed FM extends further into field-supported or field-delivered work where the agreed scope requires it.
